Track: Ants of the Sky
Artist: Between the Buried and Me
Genre: Metal, Progressive Metal, Death Metal
Between the Buried and Me is fairly well known in the prog/death metal community, making odd genre-bends that still make sense musically - without being avant-garde with it (not that avant-garde-ness is a bad thing). Every instrument of this group is superb; there’s even a track called “Viridian” which features the capabilities of the group’s bassist in a very beautiful manner.
This track is possibly my favorite of the album, but the entire album will probably always be in my top 10. In this track, you’ll hear crazy-good guitar work, and an interlude towards the end that’ll probably make you ask yourself if you’re listening to the same song, and it’s things like that that really make me love BtBaM, especially in this album.
